Chelsea offer £150k-a-week forward Tuchel who once told them to sign him

Chelsea are said to have signed the £150,000-a-week striker as his agent offered clubs, and he is the player former Blues boss Thomas Tuchel once told Stamford Bridge bosses to seal the deal.

Stewart and Winstanley headed for Chelsea

The west Londoners have been one of the busiest clubs in the Premier League in terms of total summer arrivals, with Chelsea likely to take their number of new signings into double figures in the window.

Chelsea could now sell the £200,000-a-week star they don't think is a good fit for Maresca

The Blues aren't sure he's technically fit.

KRC Genk's young goalkeeper, Mike Penders, is reportedly set to join Chelsea after agreeing to join Enzo Maresca's side. Reports claim that Chelsea have agreed a £16.8 million fee for Penders, who will remain at Genk on loan for the rest of the season to further his development.

If Todd Boehly and co can officially get the 19-year-old in line, he will become Chelsea's tenth signing of the summer, following deals for Tosin Adarabioyo (Fulham), Omari Kellyman (Aston Villa), Renato Veiga (FC. Basel), Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall (Leicester City), Filip Jorgensen (Villarreal), Marc Guiu (Barcelona), Estevao Willian (Palmeiras), Caleb Wiley (Atlanta United) and Aaron Anselmino (Boca Juniors).

Joint sporting directors, Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley, who have been in charge of the club's turnaround plans for the past few months, have been very active in the market – but only a few of the aforementioned can be considered major promoters.

Tosin, Jorgensen and Dewsbury-Hall look set to make an immediate impact on Maresca's first team, while others appear to be long-term investments at Chelsea, given their age.

There is also the matter of bringing in a new wide player or striker, something Chelsea are said to be planning after the game. The Blues have been linked with Athletic Bilbao defender Nico Williams recently, and have tried to strike a deal for Michael Olise, before he joins Bayern Munich.

Chelsea were even considering Raheem Sterling as a makeweight in Olise's talks, but the 22-year-old chose to join Vincent Kompany in Bavaria.

Chelsea have given Federico Chiesa an agent as they consider a move

It will be interesting to see who they choose to bring in as an alternative, with Juventus star Federico Chiesa recently emerging as a possibility.

He scored 10 goals and assisted three others for Juve last season, and according to journalist Simon Phillips, Chelsea have been offered Chiesa by his agent as they consider taking him on this offer.

“Federico Chiesa's agent has spoken to Chelsea, SPTC sources understand,” wrote Phillips. “Chelsea have not given a definite answer, and have been considering it.

“But sources think it's impossible. His agent spoke to Chelsea even though we had a recent interest in Chiesa. Thomas Tuchel promoted him to the board when he was in charge, and the board looked seriously at signing him. It didn't happen or it was possible at the time, but Chiesa still has people who like him in the Chelsea, so let's see if anything comes of that.”

The £150,000-a-week striker could be available for as little as £25 million due to his contract, which is expected to expire next year. The striker has also played more than 100 games for Italy at international level, and helped the Azzurri win the Euro 2020 title against England.
