Erik ten Hag describes Man Utd's 'very proactive' new approach

Erik ten Hag says he wants his Manchester United team to work hard with and without the ball.

The Dutchman is preparing for his third season in charge of the Red Devils but despite leading them to the EFL Cup and FA Cup so far and signing a new contract this summer, he will be under pressure after finishing eighth in the Premier League in 2023. /24.

United have had mixed success in pre-season so far, losing to Rosenborg and Arsenal, while beating Rangers 2-0 and, most recently, Real Betis 3-2.

In the near future, Ten Hag must manage the minutes of an injury-plagued team, with players such as Marcus Rashford, Leny Yoro, Rasmus Hojlund and Antony facing time out.

“This week everyone should get more minutes to come in [up] to match fitness,” said the Ajax manager. “Yes, the games will be difficult and I think Saturday will be a very good test when we face Liverpool. That's great preparation for the new season.”
