Liverpool officials have now said that Slot's highest target could go for £59m
Although all has felt quiet at Anfield in recent weeks, it appears that Liverpool have received an unexpected boost in their pursuit of target Arne Slot.
Liverpool take a patient approach to transfers
While few would have expected Slot to be the first in his first transfer window in charge of Liverpool, the lack of action on the transfer front may worry some of the Anfield faithful. While there is nothing coming in at the club at the moment, there is no shortage of rumors surrounding stars who could be moving to Merseyside this summer.

The name that has dominated most of Liverpool's headlines has been that of Anthony Gordon. The Reds' first offer to ease Newcastle United's financial woes, the club are still determined to bring the player to Anfield this summer.
A recent report has also linked Liverpool with a move for Genoa midfielder Morten Frendrup. The Serie A side are said to be interested in offers of around £21million for the Denmark under-21 this summer. Joining Frendrup on Liverpool's list of potential targets is Wolves winger Pedro Neto, who also has interest from the Premier League's top six.
With Liverpool's summer business set to kick into gear any time soon, there have been developments in the pursuit of Slot's biggest target this summer.
Gleison Bremer transfer update
As reported by Sport Witness, the Italian media have stated the price that Juventus will need to part with Gleison Bremer this summer. The Serie A giants were previously thought to be reluctant to sell the defender for any fee, however the report claims that an offer of €70million (£59million) would satisfy the Turin outfit.
The top brass at Anfield are said to have asked for information on Bremer's status at Juventus, which means they may already know the figure. This follows last week's news that Slot has identified the Brazilian defender as a top target this summer with the new Reds boss clearly keen to strengthen his side's backline.
While it is not known whether Liverpool will be willing to meet Juventus' price for the player, it gives Anfield a credible hope that a deal can indeed be done in the summer transfer window, should Liverpool get a deal done. Bremer over the line will be getting their hands on a quality defender who will no doubt be an immediate improvement in the Reds defence.
The 27-year-old made 36 appearances for Juventus in Serie A last season as the Old Lady finished third in the division. The Brazilian defender managed to bag three goals during the campaign, showing another dimension he can add to Slot's squad.
While there is still a lot of work to be done to get the deal over the line, this development is a step in the right direction for Liverpool. With the number of Juventus willing to consider letting Bremer leave for now, this deal could quickly progress throughout the final weeks of the window.
