Tied 23-23 after the first quarter, the USA started to break out in the second, taking an eight-point lead into halftime. Belgium would narrow the gap a bit in the latter stages, but the firepower and offensive execution of the European champions was too much.
Breanna Stewart, who had 15 points in the first half, finished with 26 to lead Team USA as it improved to 2-0 and booked its place in the quarter-finals.
