It has been a mixed bag for Man United on their pre-season tour.
Losing against Rosenborg was not how Erik ten Hag would have liked to start, but his side dealt with that performance with wins over Rangers and Real Betis.
The game against Arsenal was lost after more than 90 minutes, but a penalty shoot-out for the benefit of the fans in the United States saw the Red Devils win.
As noted by Anfield, the game would always have penalties at the end of the game, regardless of the result in normal time.
Man United ace “really unlucky”
It was a game that was not only highlighted by how good both teams were from 12 yards.
Both Rasmus Hojlund and new signing, Leny Yoro, were injured in the game, and the latter was also seen walking on crutches which caused concern for the United faithful.
The club doesn't seem too worried, though.
“Manchester United is always updated on the physical condition of its players, and will have all the information you need on Leny Yoro's physical condition,” said Fabrizio Romano to CaughtOffside in his exclusive Daily Briefing.
“They are not worried about the future, he was just unlucky in this friendly match, and the reports that other clubs have dropped out of Yoro's race because of the player's physical condition is something that does not happen at all.
“I can confirm that the results of the treatment were very good. All the clubs wanted to sign Leny Yoro; Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool and Real Madrid.
“It's not a muscle injury, it's something that happened, so Man United are calm.”
Given his young age, Yoro should be able to bounce back once his rehabilitation period is over.
It is clear that the club sees him as the future of the defense, so they will want to get him back into competitive games as soon as possible.
Fans should give him time to settle in after that because despite his obvious skills – Yoro is still young, albeit with a good reputation – he's arriving in a new environment that may take some getting used to.
