West Ham will be looking for Man Utd player Wan-Bissaka who has been snapped up by the Serie A giants
West Ham United's move for Aaron Wan-Bissaka has hit a snag with Italian giants Inter attempting to 'hijack' the deal, according to reports.
Wan-Bissaka joined Manchester United from Crystal Palace in the summer of 2019 and has made 190 appearances in all competitions, lifting the EFL Cup and FA Cup titles.
However, the 26-year-old right-back has fallen out of favor at Old Trafford and since the arrival of Erik ten Hag, he has made just 41 of 76 Premier League appearances, starting 36 of them.
West Ham are understood to be closing in on a deal to sign Wan-Bissaka – who was described as 'outstanding' by Red Devils legend Gary Neville – in the past few days. However, that move now looks to be in serious danger of collapsing, with Football Insider reporting that Inter have come to the table.
The Serie A champions are a little lighter in the right-back department with Man Utd defender Matteo Darmian – now 34 – their only top option at the moment.
A report by Football Insider says that both clubs are pushing hard to close the deal before the start of their league seasons on August 16.
But it looks like West Ham have a tough job to do as they are currently £5m short of United's £15m fee for Wan-Bissaka, and it is understood he prefers to go abroad – giving Inter an edge in negotiations.
Before Wan-Bissaka, Diogo Dalot was Man Utd's go-to back under Ten Hag. However, the club are looking at other options this summer with Bayern Munich's Noussair Mazraoui heavily linked.
