Jorgensen arrives as one of the new arrivals, penning a seven-year long-term contract after impressing as Villarreal's star player in 37 games last season.
“This walk is a dream come true,” said Jorgensen (via the BBC).
“I'm really excited to sign for Chelsea, one of the biggest clubs in the world. I can't wait to get to know everyone and start playing with all my new teammates.”
The Danish player will compete with Robert Sanchez for the first place between the sticks and make people look good, but it appears to be bad news for the Serbian goalkeeper, Djordje Petrovic.
The 24-year-old made 31 appearances in all competitions in 23/24, becoming Chelsea's number one, but it is now believed that Boehly and his team-mates are trying to find him a new club.
Chelsea are offering Petrovic to new clubs in an attempt to sell them
According to GiveMeSport and journalist Ben Jacobs, Chelsea have offered Petrovic to Genoa and other international clubs, and he could find himself sold before the August 30 deadline – despite being Mauricio Pochettino's favorite last season.
Maresca's heavy ball-handling style means Italy prefer goalkeepers who can play outside the ball, and £21 million Jorgensen and Sanchez are more suitable than Petrovic. Dusan Tadic called his Serbian teammate “the future of Chelsea” last year, but now it seems his future is far from the club.
“Dorde is a great goalkeeper and he has great talent and it's great to see him playing for Chelsea,” Tadic said.
“I quickly saw in training that he is a top-class goalkeeper. He is there [also] very nice and professional guy. I'm actually not surprised [to see him play at Chelsea] because long ago we were looking for him in Ajax. And I remember they asked me about him.
“He is the future of Chelsea.”
