Golf Business News – Eric Trump predicts new course will make Trump Aberdeen 'Greatest 36 holes in world golf'

The new flagship golf course at Trump International, in Scotland's Aberdeenshire will create 36 of the greatest golf holes in world golf, Eric Trump said this weekend.

The Senior Vice President of The Trump Organization – and head of Trump Golf – was speaking as he visited Trump International, Scotland for the Staysure PGA Seniors Championship held at the championship course.

The existing championship course, designed by Dr Martin Hawtree, has won international acclaim and the new course aims to match it when it opens next summer.

The plans for this new course were revealed by President Trump as he made an important event during his visit to Scotland in May last year. A new course is in the middle of the development phase.

Eric Trump, Executive Vice President of The Trump Organization, said: “We are on track to create the world's greatest 36 holes through two magnificent golf courses that sit together amongst these beautiful dunes on the stunning Aberdeenshire coast. It's a really fun and very special place.

“There is no other place that can offer what we have here in Scotland. We have the biggest sand dunes in the world, the biggest North Sea and the most incredible land!

“Our existing course hosts the Legends Tour, the Staysure PGA Seniors Championship which is a great venue and golf course. Some championship links and the best 36 holes of golf will give us endless energy.

“My family is fully committed to supporting my father as he seeks to be elected President of the United States of America. However, as a business we are still very passionate about golf and there is no limit to our desire for Trump International, Scotland to attract the biggest and best tournaments in the years to come.”

Trump International, Scotland has assembled a world-class team of architects, engineers, environmental scientists, agronomists and industrial experts to deliver innovative courses.

Sarah Malone, Executive Vice President, Trump International, Scotland, said: “It's great to see this important event in our resort development come to life.

“From the beginning this has been a long-term, multi-phased project, and the Trump family has been unwaveringly committed to this area. We know we're building something really impressive – a coastal dune habitat, and the amazing climate here can't be beat. This could be one of the last great modern links to be built in a golf home.

“These courses have been designed to complement the existing championship links and will provide a fantastic test of golf in stunning coastal locations with stunning views of the North Sea.

Even in this period of construction, those who were given the exhibition do not shut their mouths about the level, quality and size of what we are building.”

About the new golf course

Covering hundreds of hectares of beautiful, rugged coastline, the new links course boasts panoramic North Sea vistas and excellent weather. Featuring the world's largest natural bunker, cavernous sand holes, mountainous sand dunes and evergreens that hug the skull of a coastal dune, the course promises to challenge and attract golfers of all skill levels.

With a minimum of five tees or more on each hole, players will be treated to a unique golf experience along the north east coast of Scotland.

From heather-covered wetlands to devilish sands and ancient rolling fires to the jaw-dropping southern (sand dune) area with its towering mountains of swirling gold, golfers are lured to pristine fairways on a journey up and down the mountainside. the beauty of the dunes that line the incredible North Sea coast.

The design and development of the new course was overseen by Eric Trump and Sarah Malone, Executive Vice President, Trump International, Scotland.

They built on a master plan by renowned links designer Dr Martin Hawtree and a team of internationally renowned golf designers were tasked with maximizing the site's potential to be widely accepted as the world's last great links development. 'Home of Golf'.

Balancing modern design principles with the timeless traditions of golf links, the design team includes:

Christian Lundin of (re)GOLF based in Sweden; a highly respected figure in the golf design community known for his innovative and progressive approach to golf course design.

Christine Fraser, golf course architect from Canada whose commitment to creating an engaging and enjoyable golf experience for players of all skill levels, complements the skillset of the entire design team.

Together, this team of talented architects worked closely with Trump International and the main contractor to create a second links course that not only offers a challenging and scenic golf experience but also blends in with the rugged beauty of the Scottish coastline and world-class championship links.

Trump International, Scotland awarded the multi-million pound course construction deal Golflink is Changing. Specializing in the design of new golf courses and the refurbishment of existing courses across the UK and Europe, Golflink Evolve has a team of leading designers and sports industry experts. Directed by Esie O'Mahoney, who led the creation of the existing Championship links course, Golflink Evolve has extensive knowledge and understanding of the world and has contributed to the design and development of both championship links.

With donations from international golfers and captains of the industry, this partnership and Trump's firm commitment to the promise of making this new historic course is expected to open in the summer of 2025.
