Shakur Stevenson was defending Terence Crawford today on social media, defending him from critics after his controversial decision win over WBA junior middleweight champion Israel Madrimov last Saturday night at the Honorable Turki Alalshikh event in Los Angeles.

WBC lightweight champion Shakur, who is friends with Terence, says the fight “I wasn't around,” and Crawford had won easily. It didn't look like that to the fans, and I didn't see it that way either.
It seemed like the battered Crawford, who was going through his prime, lost the fight to the smaller, faster, and stronger Madrimov, but the judges gave him a break.
Fan Discontent: A Boring Story
According to Shakur, Crawford-Madrimov was “one of the best fights” he had ever seen. Unfortunately, the general fight paying public expects more from PPV events and wants to be entertained for their money.
“Most people don't know [anything] about boxing. That was one of the best fights I've watched in a long time. It it wasn't close however, you have to have a high IQ to understand that,” said Shakur Stevenson on social media, discussing his thoughts on last Saturday's clash between TCrawford and WBA Junior middleweight champion, Madrimov, which fans found boring.
Shakur doesn't seem to understand that, and it's one of the reasons why fans find his fight unwatchable. Boxing has changed since the days of the dinosaurs, and fans now want to be entertained for their money. Fighters like Crawford and Shakur don't give the fans value for money, and that's the problem we saw last Saturday night when Terence bored the fans.
Controversy Surrounding the Decision
They heard Crawford, 36, looking old and faded in the walk. The final result was Crawford winning a controversial 12 round decision. Madrimov landed hard, clean shots throughout the fight, but the judges gave it to Crawford because of his power punching and the feelings of some fans because of his popularity.
Fans wrote off the low-output, tactical affair between Crawford and Madrimov (10-0-1, 7 KOs) as 'boring,' lacking a sense of entertainment value, and hardly worth selling on PPV.
