Is The Countdown On For Trevor Zegras To Be Traded From Anaheim?
The dog days of the NHL offseason are here. Although trades are rare in August, they are possible. However, that doesn't mean the rumors, especially Trevor Zegras and the Anaheim Ducks, don't stop swirling.
Going back to last season and when Pat Verbeek took over as general manager in Anaheim, it looked like Zegras would be a part of the Anaheim Ducks.

Zegras' contract negotiations dragged into training camp before he signed a three-year contract. And the idea around the organization is that Trevor Zegras was not Pat Verbeek's guy. This could be the last year we see Zegras in a Ducks uniform.
NHL Network's Jamie Hersch and Stu Grimson discussed the names that could be made available through trades this summer. Anaheim Ducks forward Trevor Zegras continues to have his name out there, and Grimson believes this could be the year Anaheim moves talent forward.

Jamie Hersch: “I almost feel bad about bringing up the next guy because we talk about this so often, but Trevor Zegras continues to have his name in trade talks. What three years are now going well? Do you think this will be the summer or next season that he will be out of Anaheim?”
NHL Rumors: Does Trevor Zegras Have a Future with the Anaheim Ducks?
Stu Grimson: “I suspect there is a strong possibility there. And I say for this reason, Pat Verbeek came as general manager two years ago now in Anaheim, Leaving the Detroit organization to come to Anaheim. Pat Verbeek gets Trevor Zegras and don't get me wrong. I am a Zegras fan. I think he has a brilliant attack. I think there's, you know, a good maturity to show where his game is concerned and on the defensive side of the puck.
But then again, I don't know if, given a blank canvas, Pat Verbeek would reach out and grab Zegras, and make him part of the roster. And again, a guy who could bring a solid return in the form of a trade, there's a good chance Zegras moves on. There must be a fire where all that smoke has been coming from?”
It feels like this is a make or break year for Trevor Zegras in Anaheim.
