Ron Holland: I thought the Pistons were picking up Matas Buzelis until he looked away and said they were picking me up.

Detroit Pistons player Ron Holland actually believed that former G League Ignite teammate Matas Buzelis would be taken 5th overall during the 2024 NBA draft.

“It's a funny story. So as the election went by, we really noticed how all the cameras were going to the players before or just after the pick was called and I was looking at Matas. I told Matas, I'm like, 'Matas, Detroit right here.' It was just a funny thing, and he looked back and said, 'They're going to want you.'”
