Beterbiev's Power and Endless Style Will Be Too Much for Bivol
Blair Cobbs sees WBA light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol in a nearly unbeatable position against IBF, WBC, and WBO champion Artur Beterbiev in their undisputed rematch on October 12 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Beterbiev's power and pressure
Cobbs feels that the short, powerful jabs and non-stop attacking style used by Beterbiev (20-0, 20 KOs) will make it difficult for Bivol.
The jumping around movement that Bivol uses to win his fights will put him at risk against Beterbiev and he will land heavy punches. Bivol looked uncomfortable with the shooting of his little-known rival Malik Zinad who beat him last June in Riyadh.
Beterbiev has looked incredible of late, outplaying Callum Smith, Anthony Yarde, Joe Smith, and Marcus Browne. He left after those fights, not allowing them to roam around the ring and beat him as much as they wanted.
“Artur Beterbiev has incredible strength. I don't know how Bivol is going to be able to fight someone like that,” said Blair Cobbs speaking to Pro Boxing fans about the undisputed artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol light heavyweight showdown on October 12th.
Bivol's Style: Set to Stone & Vulnerable
Bivol's fighting style, 33, is set in stone at this stage of his decade-long career, which includes:
– Internal and external attacks
– Combination
– Movement
– Jabs
– Wrapping
“That back and forth, jumping up and down and that movement that he uses, I don't know if that works with someone who throws punches with strong arms,” said Blair. “He doesn't have to have a rhythm to hit you in the back.”
Beterbiev's Arm Punches
Beterbiev's striking and his ability to generate great power in his jabs make him extremely dangerous because his opponents can't escape the hold like they could with another fighter.
“I don't see that Bivol will be able to survive something like that, but it will be very interesting. Bivol could land too many punches on Beterbiev, scramble, and start piling up the points. That will be a very exciting fight. It will be worth checking out. I can't wait to see that one,” Blair said.
🥊 Suddenly, Artur Beterbiev stopped Callum Smith in the 7th round after being knocked down twice.
