Chelsea are in talks with Atletico Madrid over a possible return for Joao Felix

Chelsea and Atletico Madrid are discussing the possibility of Joao Felix being part of the Conor Gallagher deal according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Blues have agreed a deal to sell Gallagher to Atletico for around £34m and the Englishman is in Madrid.

It was reported that the announcement of Gallagher's departure was delayed to allow Chelsea to complete Samu Omorodion's move to the club, but that has finally happened after problems over finalizing his contract.

Chelsea and Atletico in talks for Felix

Atletico are believed to need an exit in order to finance a move for Julian Alvarez and Romano has reported that they are in talks with Chelsea about Felix being part of the Gallagher deal.

He took X.com and said:

“BREAKING: Chelsea and Atlético Madrid are now in talks with João Félix #CFC as part of Gallagher's deal!

“Samu Omorodion's deal is collapsing and both clubs do not want the deals of Gallagher and Julián Álvarez and João Félix to be discussed with Jorge Mendes in London.”

Felix spent the second half of the 2022/2023 campaign on loan at Chelsea and made 20 appearances for the club, scoring four goals and Ben Jacobs reported that Atletico could let the attacker leave for around €50 million.

Mauricio Pochettino decided last summer that he did not want to keep Felix and the Portugal international spent last season on loan at Barcelona.

New Chelsea signing Pedro Neto shares the same agent as Felix and it seems more than a coincidence that he is now discussing a return to Stamford Bridge for the 24-year-old.

The Blues are also looking at the possibility of signing Victor Osimhen from Napoli and have held discussions about whether the Nigerian could be used as part of a deal that will see Romelu Lukaku head to Naples to meet Antonio Conte.

Lukaku has reportedly agreed a three-year contract with the Italian club, while Chelsea are trying to sign Osimhen on loan from Napoli who are believed to prefer a permanent transfer.
