Tony Luftman: “The team that has a job to do within Metro comes with your own thought process.”

Have The Pittsburgh Penguins Been Better This Offseason?

Bruce Boudreau: “Well, I think there are a few teams that need work done, but I mean, for me it's the Pittsburgh Penguins. Okay, now it's two years in a row, yeah, it's not just the fact that they missed the playoffs. They have been a popular band to play for years and years and like when you have a band like that, you want to see them continue.

But I think, you know, they added Kevin Hayes, they added Blake Lizotte and Matt Grzelcyk and Sebastiano Aho and Anthony Beauvillier. But I don't think they did enough to make them better. They just make replacement boys for the people they lost.

And I'm watching it again, and, I mean, I wouldn't, you know everybody, I think you're a Sidney Crosby fan, and you want to see Sidney Crosby in the playoffs, and you want to see him do really well, so you'd like to see them be good, let's get this team back to the Stanley Cup Playoffs and made us the most watched team and, again, I just don't think they did enough.

I think they have grown up, but I mean, they haven't done enough. They lost Jake Guentzel. But, I mean I didn't think that the actual addition of Kevin Hayes doesn't get them any better, it's just replaced by another guy.

NHL Rumors: Connor McDavid's Contract Status With Edmonton Oilers Next Offseason

Luftman: “We were talking before the show, Crosby. Such is the identity of that franchise. They have a statue in front of Mario Lemieux “La Magnafique.” There should be a template at the end of task 87. “
