Former PXG employee Lydia Ko strikes gold in Paris with Ping-managed fund

Lydia Ko built on her impressive career record on the LPGA Tour with a gold medal at Paris 2024 – and was sponsored by a mix of clubs.
Ko, a former PXG signed player, has replaced PXG driver models with Titleist models such as the TSi3 and TSR3. Ko now hopes to Ping off the tee, using the G430 LST driver.
He uses a G430 LST in a 10.5 degree head with a Mitsubishi Diamana GT 50 S flex shaft. The Ping G430 range is heralded as the best on the market, and the LST was very impressive with ball speed and aggressive spin statistics during testing.
In the fairway woods, Ko uses 3 and 5 woods from Ping in the G430 Max range. These have a maximum of 15 and 18 degrees, which is typical for an LPGA Tour player. The G430 Max fairway woods are exceptionally forgiving and easy to launch.
The G430 range from Ping has a huge following and targets a wide cross-section of players and Ko uses a mix of them to bridge the gap between fairway woods and irons.
Ko, like many tour players, uses a combination set of instruments. He starts at the top of the bag with the Ping i230 irons in his 5, 6 and 7 irons before moving on to the Ping Blueprint S in his 8 and 9 irons. This is usually done to generate a little more pop and launch at the top of the bag while focusing on the feel and control of the short irons.
The two-time Major winner carries four Titleist Vokey SM9 wedges to meet his short game needs. He has 46-10F, 48-10F (bent at 49˚), 54-10F and 58-08F (bent at 59˚).
Ko's putter style has changed a lot in recent years. He previously used the PXG Blackjack model before upgrading to the Thunderbolt model and the Thunderbolt C model. He also had a medium-shafted Ping Ketsch model in the bag for a long time, but it looks like he recently converted to a Scotty Cameron tour-only model called the -TG6.
