Leicester have reached an agreement with Bayer Leverkusen for Adam Hlozek

Leicester have reached an agreement with Bayer Leverkusen on a loan deal for Adam Hlozek, according to Fabrizio Romano.

It has been a difficult summer for Mpungshe who after winning the Championship title last season lost manager Enzo Maresca and star player Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall who played for Chelsea.

However, they have appointed Steve Cooper as their new manager and have made a number of signings as they look to strengthen their squad to give them a good chance of staying up next season.

Leicester reach deal for Hlozek

The Foxes have so far made five summer signings including Issahaku Fatawu, who left Sporting Lisbon on a permanent basis, while young Brighton talent Facundo Buonanotte joined on loan.

However, Romano has reported that the Foxes are closing in on another signing after reaching an agreement with Leverkusen for Hlozek.

He took X.com and said:

“More on Adam Hlozek and the special issue of Leicester City. The deal is 100% done #LCFC and Bayer Leverkusen for a total of €20m in package add-ons.

“Borrow with obligation only if Leicester will stay in the Premier League. Negotiations are ongoing on personal terms.”

If Leicester are able to complete the deal it would be a blow if Hlozek played 36 games in all competitions for Leverkusen last season as they completed two unbeaten home runs and lost one game all season which was the Europa League final.

The 22-year-old is a versatile striker who can play outside the striker, in the center of the left, and that versatility is likely to attract Cooper.

Jamie Vardy is not young at 37 while the likes of Patson Daka have failed to live up to expectations.

If Leicester are to have any chance of survival then being able to score goals will be crucial and they can do so with firepower, which they hope Hlozek will add to.
