Noah Lyles was outraged by Adidas' invitation to Anthony Edwards' shoe event

Track and field runner Noah Lyles has expressed displeasure with Adidas after being invited to Anthony Edwards' shoe launch event.

Lyles, a World champion and six-time Olympic gold medalist, felt disrespected by the invitation, given Edwards' limited achievements compared to his own.

In an interview with TIME's Sean Gregory, Lyles questioned the reasoning behind the invitation, saying, “You want to invite me [an event for] a man who has never even been to the NBA Finals?
