The 2024 FedEx Cup Playoffs, the PGA Tour's annual series of playoff tournaments, begins Thursday and runs through Sept. 1, and ultimately the PGA Tour's season-long champion will be awarded the FedEx Cup and cash. Here's everything you need to know about the FedEx Cup Playoffs, including the complete FedEx Cup Playoffs format, schedule, prize money and information on how to watch the action.
FedEx Cup Playoffs format
The FedEx Cup Playoffs consist of a series of three stroke play tournaments. The top 70 in the FedEx Cup standings at the end of the regular season qualify for the first event, the FedEx St. Jude Championship.
The top 50 players following FedEx St. Jude will earn tee times at the BMW Championship.
Finally, the top 30 at the end of BMW qualify for the Tour Championship final.
In the Tour Championship, players are awarded points based on their FedEx Cup standings, the No. 1 starting at 10 under and players ranked 26-30 from par. Four rounds will then be played with the player with the lowest number of points, including starting points, winning the FedEx Cup.

FedEx Cup Playoffs purse, prize money
Big money is on the line in the 2024 FedEx Cup Playoffs. First, players will compete for prize money available in the first two events, FedEx St. Jude Championship and BMW Championship. Each event carries a winner's prize of $3.6 million and a total prize money of $20 million, which was the same amount awarded at the Signature Events during the 2024 PGA Tour season.
The Tour Championship works differently. Instead of tournament prize money alone, players who qualify for the Tour Tournament compete for their FedEx Cup bonuses. The top player in the Tour Championship, starting in points, wins the FedEx Cup and the $25 million FedEx Cup luxury bonus.
Here is the list of FedEx Cup bonuses for the top 10 finishers at the end of the Tour Championship:
