Devin Haney Hints at the Return of the Ring, heading to Riyadh

Devin Haney told Honorable Turki Alalshikh on X that he is interested in getting back in the ring after being laid off for a while.

Turki told former two-division world champion Haney, “I'm waiting for you in Riyadh.”

If Haney returns to the ring in October, he will be a worthy candidate for the Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It would not be in the main event slot for Haney (31-0, 15 KOs). It may be a good opportunity for him to appear on this prestigious card especially if he is placed as a partner.

Out Growing 140-lb Division

It is believed that Haney will prepare for his next fight, getting his feet wet at 147, as he has moved up to the 140-lb division. He looked strong and muscular, making weight in his last two fights against Ryan Garcia and Regis Prograis at light welterweight.

There was a report that Haney had rehydrated to 165 lbs for the Prograis fight, an absurd number for a fighter competing in the 140-lb division.

Haney posted on X, saying “the game isn't the same” since his last fight against Ryan Garcia on April 20. He lost that fight, but the New York State Athletic Commission overturned the loss and changed it to a no-contest because Ryan tested positive .

The Pursuit of Mega-Wealth

Haney says he wants to be one of the richest players in the game, and his father, Bill Haney, talks about wanting to live in a good place. Hamptons on Long Island, where Billionaire's Lane is located.

For Haney to live in a wealthy neighborhood, like the Hamptons or Beverly Hills Gatewayhe should change his fighting style and return to the pure boxing he used to defeat Regis Prograis in 2023.
