Man Utd fans will love what Bruno Fernandes has to say after signing a new deal

Bruno Fernandes has penned a new contract that will keep him at Manchester United until at least June 2027 with an option for another year, the club have confirmed.

The Portuguese joined Man Utd from Sporting CP in January 2020 and has registered 79 goals and 67 assists in 234 appearances in all competitions, lifting the FA Cup and EFL Cup titles and was named club captain in July 2023.

Fernandes is first among Premier League players in chances created (447), balls completed (55) and penalties scored (19) since joining United.

Speaking in a statement on the Man Utd club website, Fernandes revealed that he signed his new contract because he believes that his good times with the Red Devils are 'yet to come' and that the club's management has assured him of their determination to succeed.

“Everyone knows the love I have for Manchester United. I understand the responsibility and importance of wearing this shirt, and the levels of dedication and desire required to represent this amazing club.

“I've had a lot of special moments here already; hearing my name sung at the Stretford End, scoring a hat-trick against Leeds, leading the team at Old Trafford on a European night and lifting trophies at Wembley. But I wouldn't have signed this contract if I didn't believe that my best moments are yet to come in a United shirt.

“In the conversations I have with the football leadership and the manager, it is clear how much everyone is determined to fight for big trophies in the coming years. I can see how exciting the future will be and I'm excited to lead this team forward.”
