4 Liverpool stars who could emerge in the 2024/25 season
Liverpool are set to enjoy an exciting 2024/25 season with new manager Arne Slot in charge, and may rely on some young stars to bring them success.
Slot had big boots to fill when he stepped up to replace Jurgen Klopp this summer, and so far his time with the Reds has been impressive. However, the Dutchman still has a Premier League campaign ahead of him, and must impress against the big teams if he is to cement his place on Merseyside.
He could look to some of his youngsters to shine in the campaign, after a good run during pre-season. Here are four potential stars to watch out for…
17-year-old Trey Nyoni was one of Liverpool's most impressive stars in their 4-1 pre-season win over Sevilla. The youngster did well to enter the field in the second half, scoring a goal after a few minutes.
His superb shot from the edge of the Kop marked his first goal for Liverpool – confirming a bright future for the Merseyside talent. He was one of the Reds' young players called up by Jurgen Klopp last season – and became the club's youngest ever player to play in the FA Cup.
The youngster is undoubtedly one of the most exciting prospects at Anfield, and this could be the season where he is given the chance to flourish.
After showing what he can do last season, Conor Bradley said he is determined to fight for Trent Alexander-Arnold's place at right-back – and this will be a step-up campaign to prove it.
The 21-year-old made 11 appearances in the Premier League last season. But now, with Slot in charge, Bradley has a new chance to impress and push himself to the back of the team.
The Northern Ireland international is very talented, and given the chance to play an improved role under the new manager, he could pile on the goals and assists this season.
Stefan Bajcetic first established himself as a first-team player in the 2022/23 season, but struggled to make an impact last season due to a long-term injury.
His rise was a meteoric rise – playing in the youth team before making the step up to the senior team in 2022 at the age of 17. If the Spanish star is fit, he will have a big role to play for Liverpool.
Bajcetic is still one of the players focused on the 'number 6' role, which means that a place in the starting team could be his if he is willing to work for it. Reports say that he has already impressed Slot, and if he continues to make his place in the team it will not be denied.
While Harvey Elliott has long since broken into the first team and been given regular football at Liverpool, the 2024/25 season represents a new challenge for the 21-year-old, and he could turn into an even bigger player under Slot.
He is still young, but the improvement Elliott has shown over the past few seasons has set him up for a tough campaign now. When given the freedom to drift and play the ball as he sees fit, Elliott can be a true playmaker – a key player on the Slot team.
Elliott could also break into the England squad soon, so he will be eager to impress on Merseyside.
