Brewster was 12-14 on the night of July 17 after a 7-0 win over Harwich, which put them in a strong position to end the season in the East Division, but a recent season slide saw the Whitecaps winless in 12. their last 13 games sent them into last place and a 13-25-2 record.
There's no way around the fact that hitting was Brewster's biggest problem when it was all said and done, as the Whitecaps' team ERA (5.88), opponent batting average (.272) and WHIP (1.56) all ranked last in the league. .
