Lightweight Abdullah Mason (15-0, 13 KOs) said he thinks he will fight for the world title in 2025 following his second round knockout of Mike Ohan Jr. (19-3, 9 KOs) on Saturday night at the Videotron Center in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada.
Tonight, Mason arguably stole the show again, dropping Ohan twice in the fight to earn a second round knockout in the first half of the card. The fight was stopped after Mason dropped Ohan with a right hook in the second round. The referee's stoppage time was: 40 mark.
Mason knocked Ohan down in the bottom of the first with a left-hander that threw him high. In the second, Marson finished the job with a right hook that knocked him down a second time to stop him.
Mason turns 21 in 2025 and feels ready to challenge for a world title at 135. Fans will want to see Mason challenge one of these three: Gervonta Davis, Shakur Stevenson or Vasily Lomachenko.
