Luis Alberto Lopez is suffering from a minor brain bleed after his KO loss to Angelo Leo
FORMER IBF featherweight champion, Luis Alberto Lopez, suffered a minor brain bleed following a heavy loss to Angelo Leo on August 10.
The fight came to a close in the tenth round when Leo landed a left hook that put Lopez on his back. Referee Ernie Sharif started the count but Lopez was unable to continue. It was Lopez's fourth title defense against Josh Warrington in 2022. None of the four hit Lopez like Leo did. The former WBO super-bantamweight champion later walked out of the Tingley Coliseum in Albuquerque as the new IBF featherweight champion.
Last night (August 17) during ESPN's coverage of the Christian Mbilli-Sergiy Derevyanchenko undercard reporter Mark Kriegel revealed that Lopez was left with a small brain bleed. The 30-year-old Mexican player is recovering but his future in the sport is unknown as he has been injured.
Everyone Debate News wish Lopez a speedy recovery.
