Spurs could get their own White in latest exciting surprise for £50m “beast”

Tottenham Hotspur begin their Premier League campaign with a trip to London to face Leicester City at the King Power Stadium tonight.

Spurs are keen to do business with their rivals, with Oliver Skipp set to join in a £25m deal, but the midfielder will not be available to play even if they announce him ahead of the game.

Ange Postecoglou can provide Lucas Bergvall, Archie Gray, Wilson Odobert and Dominic Solanke, all of whom were added to the squad this summer, although Bergvall was signed in February.

The outlet say Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid and Liverpool are also interested in the Ecuador international, who was once described as a “passionate” defender by talent scout Jacek Kulig.

It turns out that Xabi Alonso, who led Leverkusen in the unbeaten Bundesliga last season, has asked the club to stay in Germany, since he is a key player in this Spanish team.

TEAMtalk previously claimed that it would take around £50m to tempt the Bundesliga champions away from the 22-year-old star, and it remains to be seen whether Tottenham are willing to pay him or not.

If Postecoglou can land a talented defender before the end of the summer transfer window, though, the Leverkusen star could be his own version of Arsenal enforcer Ben White.

Why Piero Hincapie is like Ben White

Although on opposite sides of the pitch, both players are centre-backs by trade who have been converted into centre-backs who can turn to form a back three.

Hincapie – described as a “beast” by football analyst Antonio Mango – is a full-back who can play at left-back, giving his manager plenty of tactical opportunities, while White has been seen as a full-back at first. his career before he was switched to right back by Mikel Arteta.

As you can see from the table above, both players are comfortable in possession and have won most of their duels back to back, at Bundesliga and Premier League level respectively.

The Leverkusen star is ranked in the top 1% of his peers for continuous passing and in the top 15% for passing, which shows that he is well-mannered and always looking to get the ball to his team.

Therefore, Hincapie can be his own version of Postecoglou for White by providing a flexible and continuous option to play in the back four if needed this season, like the competition of Micky van de Ven and Destiny Udogie.
