Arturo Cardenas Enjoys Quick Turnaround, Will Face Jesus Arechiga On Aug. 31 in Carson, California

Arturo Cardenas gets to enjoy a quick turnaround.

The undefeated junior featherweight will return to the ring on August 31, trainer Robert Garcia confirmed on The Ring on Sunday night. Cardenas will face Jesus Arechiga in a fight scheduled for 10 rounds at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California.

Their clash will serve to support the Diego Pacheco-Maciej Sulecki DAZN head position.

“I'm very happy to have Arturo on a great card here (in the Los Angeles area),” Garcia told The Ring on Sunday night. “Arturo is a good fighter and always fights well.”

Cardenas (14-0-1, 8 knockouts), who lives in Sahuayo de Morelos, Mexico, is coming off a majority decision win over Danny Barrios on June 29. The clash between the undefeated is Jesse Rodriguez-Juan Francisco Estrada. sub card.

The knockout marks the fourth straight Matchroom undercard for the 24-year-old Cardenas.

“Thank you to Matchroom for keeping him busy,” said Garcia. “Los Angeles is going to enjoy a good fight.”

Cardenas made his debut under the Matchroom Boxing banner on December 16, stopping Carlos Mujica in the fourth round. Two months later, he claimed a tough decision against Ernesto Garcia Flores in Oaxaca, Mexico.

Arechiga (21-1, 15 KOs) suffered his first professional loss in his last fight on March 9. The Mazatlan, Mexico native lost to Jose Israel Ramirez by unanimous decision.

In his previous fight on October 20, Arechiga, 24, stopped Jose Alvarado Morales in the opening round.
