'Not Good' Warriors Making Big Moves, Inside Each NBA

Warriors fans are wondering when the team will get Steph Curry real help and one NBA insider says it's still possible.

Golden State tried to make big moves several times over the summer after pursuing the likes of LeBron James, Paul George and Lauri Markkanen.

While it may not happen before the start of the 2024-25 season, long-time NBA veteran Marc Stein says to keep an eye out because the team may have big plans.

“Golden State is planning its next steps after pursuing a trade for Paul George and Lauri Markkanen earlier in the season,” Stein said. “Team officials believe they remain in a good position to develop a trade sometime in the next year or so after responding to the free agency exit of longtime Curry teammate Klay Thompson by acquiring Kyle Anderson, Buddy Hield and De'Anthony Melton soon. – time deals and keeping all their draft picks.

“The distinct feeling at the Chase Center is that the Clippers and Jazz, while there was no shortage of discussions with both teams, really didn't want to do business with the Warriors.”

Stein also touched on the uncertainty surrounding Golden State heading into next season.

“Certainly there are challenges ahead. “Curry, Draymond Green and Warriors coach Steve Kerr still haven't come to grips with the fact that Thompson is no longer part of the organization they all hoped he wouldn't leave,” Stein wrote. “The hope now is that the golden summer Curry and Kerr enjoyed together provides lasting tension in what could be a complicated winter (maybe even spring) as Golden State continues to rebuild.”
