Video: “Warning signs” – Chelsea's £280m stadium torn in three by Gary Neville's brutal takeover

Chelsea's spending spree over the past few seasons on under-developed players was thrust into the headlines on Monday night after Gary Neville brutally sent off three of his midfielders during Monday Night Football.

Neville first commented on the £280m the Blues had spent on Romeo Lavia, Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez, compared to the £128m Sunday's opponents, Man City, had paid for Bernardo Silva, Kevin De Bruyne and Mateo Kovacic, the latter two. Both players are ex-Chelsea men of course.

The former Man United defender then went to town on the West Londoners midfield, showing they were second best in every aspect of the game.

It's no wonder Neville saw the club's “warning signs” appear this season.
