Chelsea defiantly give Raheem Sterling a shirt number
Chelsea have handed out the seventh shirt to their new summer signings Pedro Neto of the season though Raheem Sterling is still in the London club.
The winner has worn the shirt number since arriving at Stamford Bridge from Man City in the summer of 2022 and is still on the Blues' books.
Despite this, Chelsea have defiantly handed Sterling's seventh shirt to Pedro Neto reports Sky Sports, who was signed from Wolves this month as part of a £54m deal.
The English coach has been left out of Enzo Maresca's first two squads this season and the Italian coach has no plans for the 29-year-old in the Premier League. According to Fabrizio Romano, the winger will leave for Chelsea before the deadline as he is currently training away from the first team.
Chelsea have done damage to their squad again this summer and have too many stars on their books at the moment.
Officials at the London club are working behind the scenes to push players forward and have not only snubbed Sterling during the process but also fan favorite Conor Gallagher.
Chelsea have defied Raheem Sterling with the latest stunt
Stripping a player of his shirt number while he is still in the team is extremely disrespectful and something Sterling does not deserve to happen to him. The 29-year-old was in excellent form before his statement at the weekend and was ready to give his all for Chelsea this season.
The way the London club's board have treated the defender is a disgrace, especially for someone who has won more Premier League titles than any football club in the last decade.
The way Chelsea have operated this summer has been shameless and could turn off players from joining the club under current ownership.
