Fabio Wardley signs a promotional deal with Frank Warren

FABIO WARDLEY has signed a promotional deal with Frank Warren and Queensberry Promotions.

The British heavyweight champion has been active as a free agent for the past few years but has now officially linked up with Warren by penning what has been described as a 'multi-fight promotional deal'.

The first of those bouts will come on October 12 when he faces Frazer Clarke in a rematch expected to be part of a packed light-heavyweight card between Artur Beterbiev and Dmitrii Bivol in Riyadh.

The two heavyweights met in March in a fight at the O2 Arena, London that ended in a split after 12 rounds.

They will now return seven months into the fight in what will be Wardley's second fight in Saudi following his seventh round victory over David Adeleye in October, who won the British title in the first place.

Regarding his deal with Queensberry, Wardley said: “At this stage of my career, being associated with a top promoter is important and I couldn't be in better hands than Frank and George. Seeing the great fights and shows that Queensberry has put together over the past few years has made me so excited about the future and what we can achieve together!”

His new promoter Warren added: “It's understandable that Fabio had a lot on the table and I'm not happy that he chose Queensberry to advance his career at such an important time. He has a big rematch in October and once he's done I believe he's ready to challenge anyone in the top ten.

“The heavyweight division is not going to be very interesting right now and Fabio has shown himself to be an important part of that with a standout performance.

The undefeated Wardley, still only 29 years old, is currently 17-0-1 with all but one of those victories coming inside the distance.
