Ipswich are set to complete the signing of an “unbelievable” 25 y/o

Ipswich Town are believed to be closing in on the signing of another “unbelievable” player, according to a new claim from journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Ipswich City transfer news

Kieran McKenna's side have had a good start to life in the Premier League, losing their opening two games and seeing a jump in quality from the Championship to the top flight. In fairness, they had to play against Liverpool and Manchester City, however, and there was no shame in their 2-0 and 4-1 defeats.

Ipswich may feel that more signings are needed in the summer transfer window, in order to give themselves the best chance of beating the drop, and it looks like potential targets are being looked at, with a number of rumors floating around in recent days.

Sunderland winger Jack Clarke has become the 10th player to join Portman Road ahead of next Friday's deadline day, adding attacking depth to McKenna's squad with an announcement made on Saturday evening.

Anel Ahmedhodzic has also emerged as a target for Ipswich, as he looks to leave Sheffield United, however, one defender is set to be replaced in the 11 in the window.

Ipswich Town have agreed a deal to sign an “unbelievable” player.

According to Romano on XIpswich have also agreed a deal to sign Burnley defender Dara O'Shea, with the Irishman penning a five-year contract at Portman Road:

O'Shea could be another smart signing for the Tractor Boys before the window closes, with plenty of experience but still young enough to be signed in his prime at the club.

The 25-year-old is now a 26-cap Republic of Ireland international, proving to be a key player at international level, and Slaven Bilic once praised him during their West Brom days together, saying:

“He listens to everything and that's a big part of his development. He listens and thinks about his game. He's like a sponge. He listens and tries to improve his game, that's why his development has been incredible. If you look at where he was last season and where he is now, it's like a fairy tale but he deserves it all.

O'Shea also has Premier League experience, crucially, playing 61 games in the competition, so there's no reason why he can't come straight in and hit the ground running.

The Tractor Boys look set to add to the list of new recruits.

He has averaged 4.5 clearances and two aerial duel wins per game in Burnley's two league games this season, and that dominance could be a valuable addition for McKenna.
