Golf was the third most searched Olympic sport in America during Paris 2024 according to Google search statistics.

With the Games now over, a new survey has revealed which 2024 Olympic events are being talked about the most across America. Whether celebrated for their spectacular performances or fueled by controversy, these games captured the nation's attention.
The sports betting experts at Responsible Gambling analyzed the average number of monthly Google searches in the US for terms related to different Olympic events, such as 'Team USA breaks' and 'when is the Olympic boxing final,' to decide which events sparked the most discussion. .
The top was 'Soccer', with 38,100 Google searches last month in the US. The two most searched terms related to Olympic basketball are 'basketball Olympics' and 'US basketball Olympic team.'
In second place was 'Breaking', with 20,537 Google searches. This style of street dance made its debut as an Olympic sport this year although it has been announced that it will be phased out in the next Olympic Games. One of the most talked about games this year is that of Raygun, the Australian athlete who scored zero points and caused a stir on social media.
Golf finished clear in third place, with 14,013 search volume.
The Olympic field was limited to 60 golfers in each of the men's and women's events.
The IGF used the official world golf rankings to create the Olympic Golf Rankings as a means of determining eligibility which disqualified any LIV golfers from participating.
