Liverpool have discussed a late move for the £70m Premier League winger
Liverpool fans are still waiting for their club to make their first signing of the summer transfer window.
That may change soon as they are busy making decisions about bringing new faces to the club or not.
With just four days to go until the transfer window closes, the Reds must decide soon and get things right.
They were denied by Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi and a move for Newcastle United midfielder Anthony Gordon failed to materialise.
However, according to Teamtalk, Liverpool have discussed signing Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi.
They could snub Newcastle United's move to sign the England defender at the end of the transfer window.
The Magpies have seen four bids rejected for the Chelsea defender but remain hopeful of signing Guehi.
Liverpool are now in the race to sign him as they look for a long-term replacement for Virgil Van Dijk at the club.
The Dutch defender has entered the final year of his contract at the club and the Reds are preparing for life without him.
Palace want around £70m for the defender, which would be the same price Liverpool paid to sign Van Dijk from Southampton.
A full-back is needed at Anfield considering how Liverpool's defense leaked goals last season.
Liverpool need a new defender in their squad
After Joel Matip left the club this summer following the end of his contract, a new defender was needed.
Although the club has Joe Gomez, Jarell Quansah and Iraima Konate, a reliable presence is needed at the back alongside Van Dijk.
Guehi would be ready for the Reds but they will have to act quickly on their interest as the transfer window closes on August 30.
A big move for Guehi is not far off, given the level of interest clubs are showing in signing him.
