Aston Villa are open to the idea of signing a new striker in the final days of the transfer window, according to CaughtOffside's sources familiar with Unai Emery's plans.
There are several different names on the list with Chelsea's Nicolas Jackson among the preferred names.
It is understood that the villains have been following him for a year.
It is currently under consideration to understand if there is room for substantive negotiations, and a possible move for the Blues striker, before the window closes for another few months.

However, other names have also been discussed internally, such as Tammy Abraham and Everton's Calvert-Lewin.
It is understood that the Roma striker is now very close to West Ham who have put a €20 million offer on the table, and sources understand that Calvert-Lewin, outside of Everton's plans, could be available.
Karim Adeyemi is among the other names being considered although sources have advanced that Borussia Dortmund have no intention of letting him go unless they receive offers in excess of 50 million euros.
In addition to the striker, the opportunity to get a new player at the last minute can be seized, which is why Barcelona's Raphinha remains on his radar.
Furthermore, and although it is not a priority, the opportunity to sign a new defender is still alive, and interest in Trevoh Chalobah is also there.
During the next few hours and days, further checks and negotiations will continue – not just on incoming transfers.
John Duran could still leave Aston Villa as the player has several clubs interested in him. Despite the persistent rumours, however, sources indicate that Chelsea is not among them.
