Fabio Vieira is leaving Arsenal on loan for the 2024/25 season
Arsenal winger Fabio Vieira has rejoined Porto on loan until the 2024/25 season.
Vieira first joined the Gunners from Porto in the summer of 2022, but failed to make an impact in two seasons in Mikel Arteta's setup.
The 24-year-old is set to spend the campaign returning from a loan spell at the Estadio do Dragao.
Vieira was born outside Porto in Santa Maria da Feira and came through the club's academy system before breaking into the first team in 2019. He went on to score 10 goals in 76 games for Porto and was snapped up by Arsenal for an initial £30m. .
However, Vieira has played 49 times in two seasons for Arsenal, with most of his appearances coming from the bench.
Porto moved to re-sign him this summer and bring back Vieira on a loan deal that does not include an option to buy.
Vieira's return to Porto comes shortly after the loan of Portuguese defender Francisco Conceicao from Juventus.
Arsenal have sought to overhaul their squad for the new season, with Vieira and attacking midfielder Emile Smith Rowe both leaving this transfer window. Academy graduate Smith Rowe has left the club permanently, joining Fulham in a £34m deal.
Meanwhile, Eddie Nketiah could also seal an exit from the Emirates Stadium in the coming days, with a move to Crystal Palace likely to be approved. Defenders Jakub Kiwior and Kieran Tierney have also been touted as possible exits ahead of Friday's transfer deadline.
