Club officials speak to Jadon Sancho in Dortmund rumours
Rumors about Borussia Dortmund trying to bring Jadon Sancho back to the club have been dismissed as “nonsense” by club officials, according to reports.
After falling out with Erik ten Hag, Sancho spent the second half of last season on loan at Dortmund before leaving the club for Manchester United in the summer of 2021.
The England international looked rejuvenated in black and yellow, helping the club reach the Champions League final – where they lost 2-0 to Real Madrid at Wembley – and finishing fifth in the Bundesliga to secure their place at Europe's top table for another year.
Initially, it looked like Sancho would stay at Old Trafford after he and the Ten Hag appeared to be putting their previous struggles behind them, with the player enjoying a productive pre-season.
However, the striker failed to make the squad for one of Man Utd's Premier League games against Fulham and Brighton so far this season, playing seven minutes off the bench as the Red Devils lost the Community Shield on penalties to Manchester City.
Man Utd transfer news: Sancho to Dortmund rumors 'nonsense'
Sancho's lack of minutes has sparked further rumors of an exit and predictably, given their history together, Dortmund have been one of the clubs mentioned as potential suitors.
However, the German company Ruhr Nachrichten (via Get Football News Germany) claims to have asked Dortmund's powers about a possible return to Signal Iduna Park for Sancho, with a vague response labeling the rumors as 'nonsense'.
Juventus and Chelsea appear to be the most likely destinations for Sancho to leave Old Trafford before the summer transfer window closes, with the latter said to be considering a swap deal that would include Raheem Sterling.
