Chelsea currently have as many as 43 players on the shortlist to be part of their senior squad for the 2024/25 season.
As you can guess – that's a lot of players.
The team now has just a few weeks to try to get their team down to the right size so that, to help them, we 90 min go through the first team with a fine tooth comb to decide which players Chelsea should keep, sell or send out on loan.
Robert Sanchez – Sell – Given Enzo Maresca's insistence on playing at the back and Sanchez's struggles with the ball at his feet, it makes sense to sell the Spaniard this summer.
Filip Jorgensen – Save – The new signing is a complete contrast to Sanchez: he fits Maresca's system because he is smart on the ball. Expect Jorgensen, despite his young age, to be Chelsea's number one forward.
Marcus Bettinelli – Save – He has made just one appearance in three years so far and is under contract for two more, but that is the strange life of a third-choice goalkeeper.
Djordje Petrovic – Save – Petrovic filled in well for the injured Sanchez in the second half of the 2023/24 season, and will be a useful backup to Jorgensen in 2024/25 as well.
Lucas Bergstrom – Sell – Now 21 years old, it's time for Bergstrom to go somewhere else and be the best.
Eddie Beach – Loan – Expect the youngster to come out with his third debt soon.
Kepa Arrizabalaga – Sell – Arguably the worst signing in Premier League history. Sell him, if you can.
Axel Disasi – Save – The French defender has played a lot of football since joining Chelsea, and very well. He will return from hernia surgery in time for the new season.
Marc Cucurella – Save – If Cucurella can replicate his Euro 2024 form at club level, he will be one of England's best left-backs. That's a big 'if' though.
Tosin Adarabioyo – Save – A surprisingly astute free agent signing, Tosin is a steady hand.
Benoit Badiashile – Save – Fans weren't exactly happy with his pre-season performance against Real Madrid, but the 23-year-old has plenty of potential.
Levi Colwill – Save – The key man behind. If Colwill can shoulder what is expected of him, he will be the leader of this defense for years to come.
Trevoh Chalobah – Sell – Left out of the pre-season tour group, linked with a move to Fulham and now aged 25, it is time for Chalobah to leave Stamford Bridge.
Ben Chilwell – Save – His injury history is not very good, but when he is fit Chilwell can contribute to this Chelsea team.
Reece James – Save – See above.

Malo Gusto – Save – The 21-year-old has been one of the few bright spots in Chelsea's defense in 2023/24. He's more of a player than James when he's (inevitably) injured.
Wesley Fofana – Keep – Injuries have seriously hampered Fofana's health since he arrived in the Premier League. Now on his return to fitness, Chelsea will be hoping the Frenchman can finally get some minutes under his belt at Stamford Bridge.
Josh Acheampong – Loan – After signing his professional contract in January, this summer looks like the perfect time for Acheampong to go out on loan and play regular regular football.
Bashir Humphreys – Loan – Another loan will do the defender some good.
Caleb Wiley – Loan – A summer signing from MLS side Atlanta United, there currently appears to be no path to regular playing time for the USMNT international at Stamford Bridge, so it's a loan.
Enzo Fernandez – Save – On and off the pitch, Enzo Fernandez hasn't put a foot well since joining Chelsea. However, he cost more than £100m, so they should try to make it work.
Lesley Ugochukwu – Loan – One of the long list of 'young players who need to be loaned out to get playing time'.
Carney Chukwuemeka – Sell – Having not featured in any of Chelsea's last three pre-season games, and with a £30m asking price hanging over his head, it looks like Chukwuemeka's time is up.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall – Save – A new player who will be aiming to do wonders under Maresca.
Moises Caicedo – Save – The most expensive player in the history of British football, but still justifying that situation. Caicedo will stay, but he has to increase his performance levels.
Cesare Casadei – Sell – The Italian has been heavily linked with a move to Serie A, and this would make a lot of sense for him.
Omari Kellyman – Keep – A surprising new signing in the summer window. The 18-year-old suspect is highly sought after.
Renato Veiga – Loan – Yes, another summer signing, but one who would be better off looking for playing time on loan elsewhere.
Romeo Lavia – Save – Finally back from full fitness after an injury-riddled maiden campaign in blue, many expect Lavia to have a big season.
Tino Anjorin – Sell – The 22-year-old has made one Premier League appearance for the Blues since joining in 2019. It's time to go.
Raheem Sterling – Sell – It didn't work out for Sterling back in London. If they can find a match, it's probably best to sell it while it still holds some limited market value.
Mykhailo Mudryk – Sell – Yes, he is only 23 years old. And yes you called the big ones. And yes he is on a long contract. But, calling a spade a spade: Mudryk just doesn't look right at this level. And with so much going on already in the books, it's probably time to try to ship him out.
Noni Madueke – Keep – One of the bright sparks of Chelsea's pre-season, Madueke is progressing well.
Nicolas Jackson – Save – He was the source of a few jokes last season, but Jackson's 14 goals and five assists in the Premier League is a good return from the first league campaign.
Christopher Nkunku – Keep – Last year's pre-season star has barely kicked the ball in 2023/24 due to injury. Now back to full health, he will be a key player in Maresca's side going forward.
Armando Broja – Sell – Look, he's not right. It must be sold.
Cole Palmer – Keep – The best footballer in the club. Of course Chelsea should hold on to him.
Tyrique George – Loan – The talented youngster would benefit from a loan move to a Championship or League One club in 2024/25.
David Washington – Loan – It's highly rated but won't get much playtime in the near future.
Marc Guiu – Save – Signed for just £5m from Barcelona, this was a brilliant piece of business for the seemingly talented young striker.
Angelo Gabriel – Loan – The Brazilian spent last season on loan in Strasbourg, and a similar loan would not happen this season.
David Fofana – Sell – The 21-year-old has been linked with a number of clubs and is expected to leave, at the very least, on loan.
Romelu Lukaku – Sell – It's a seemingly impossible task, but Chelsea need to ditch Lukaku for good.
