Wow, quite a twist.

Sky Sports News are now reporting that Al-Ahli have agreed a deal to sign Ivan Toney from Brentford for £40million. Does the Saudi Arabian side really want both Toney and Osimhen?

Or does this mean that Osimhen refused to go to the Middle East, which means they are now targeting Toney?

And how does Chelsea fit into all this…? It's interesting.

Arne Slot speaks to the media now ahead of Liverpool's trip to Manchester United on Sunday.

The Dutchman, who yesterday brought Federico Chievo to Anfield, is unlikely to be busy today, although he refused to rule it out completely.

He said: “I don't expect anything… but if we see an opportunity we can do something.”

Four-time defending champions Manchester City have signed Savinho and Ilkay Gundogan in this transfer window. City as a rule don't do much business on deadline day – Pep Guardiola is not one to walk around in a bucket of goods.

City are not expected to do anything today as they are fully focused on tomorrow's trip to West Ham.

Another man to watch today is Jadon Sancho. The England midfielder was also suspended from Manchester United despite reports that he reconciled with Erik ten Hag. Juventus look to be in pole position although Paris Saint-Germain may be a late contender.

Sancho spent the second half of last season on loan at Borussia Dortmund but the Bundesliga side decided to bring him back to the club for a third term due to financial reasons.

Chelsea's frustration?

Sky Italy reports that Napoli striker Victor Osimhen is set to sign for Saudi Arabia's Al-Ahli. The Nigerian player has been reported to be a target for Enzo Maresca, whose team is unquestionably still short of a number 9 to compete with Nicolas Jackson.

Does that put Ivan Toney in the frame for a move to Stamford Bridge?

An early move to Arsenal has Bournemouth goalkeeper Neto set for a trial in North London this morning.

With Aaron Ramsdale seemingly on his way to Southampton, Mikel Arteta needed a new goalkeeper and Neto was found after Bournemouth signed Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea yesterday.

Hello and welcome to our deadline day blog where we'll be covering all the big stuff before the window closes tonight at 11pm.

There are a number of players to keep an eye on as clubs look to strengthen their squads ahead of the long season.

Will Chelsea's busy career continue? Can they sign a new striker with Ivan Toney and Victor Osimhen reportedly on their wish list? And what about their 'bomb squad'? Will Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell's boys find new clubs?

Manchester United have also been active but Manuel Ugarte has not completed his move to Old Trafford from Paris Saint-Germain.

Another club in the running for number nine is Arsenal. Will the Gunners be late in the market?
