Man Utd are now eyeing a long-term deal to sign a “huge” £30m replacement for Shaw

After an excellent summer transfer window, Manchester United are already eyeing another arrival, with a replacement for Luke Shaw long now in their sights.

The Red Devils have closed the window with the arrival of Manuel Ugarte to ensure they welcome additions to Erik ten Hag's entire squad, from the back to his attack. Ugarte may seem more valuable without lot. The former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder should replace Casemiro and end United's woes in the middle of the park.

Ugarte was a fan of the deal himself, expressing his delight by telling the club's official website: “It's an amazing feeling to join a club of this kind; admired all over the world. However, those at Old Trafford never took the time to praise their summer business, as they have already turned their attention to other incomings. According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United are now looking at a long-term deal to sign Antonee Robinson as a replacement for the injury-prone Luke Shaw. The 27-year-old is said to be worth £30m by Fulham and could help solve another problem at Ten Hag's side.

No one doubts Shaw's ability, but his injury record speaks for itself, as the left-back has already missed the start of the campaign. Robinson, meanwhile, missed just one Premier League game last season and has enjoyed a flying start to the season at Craven Cottage.

“Good” Robinson continued where he left off

Arguably one of the best left-backs in the Premier League last season, Robinson has picked up where he left off in the summer, helping twice in three games to maintain his place as one of Fulham's most important players.

Fulham manager Marco Silva is well aware of just how talented the American is, as he told The Athletic last weekend: “The way he started last week, he is a great player. He is an important, important player for us. If he continues to improve it will be another big season for him. A good assistant, a good decision to do it first. -Iwobi's time. He must really like his performance.”

As Robinson continues to steal the headlines, Manchester United could be closing in on a replacement for the unreliable Shaw.

Shaw's lack of minutes last season highlights how unreliable he was under the Ten Hag. Conversely, Robinson's creativity and consistency stand out as traits the Red Devils should be chasing sooner rather than later.
