Shaquille O'Neal talks about Rudy Gobert when asked about the NBA's worst
Many fans and experts have called Rudy Gobert over the top in the past, but no one has gone so far as to compare him to the worst players to ever compete in the league. Shaquille O'Neal recently went on a podcast and named the Minnesota star when asked about athletes who don't deserve praise in the NBA.
The Lakers legend took part on Complex's YouTube channel GOAT Speak and was asked, “Who is the worst NBA player of all time?” Without hesitation, O'Neal said “Rudy Gobert,” Shaq said, then added, “Ben Simmons is one of the abusers.”
This is not the first time that the Hall of Famer has criticized Gobert, as it is now clear that the French center has never been a player he respects, not only for his performance on the field but for his general attitude.
Shaq then explained his opinion on this sensitive issue. “If you sign a $250 million contract, show me you're worth $250 million. There's a reason why I walk so funny, why I can't turn my neck – it's because I played hard to get my $120 million. Guys like him screw up the system, make all this money, and then they can't play. So I don't respect such players,” he said.
The retired star confirmed that he was telling the truth. “Every time I make these statements, people think I hate them, but these are the facts. “You have teachers, firefighters, and doctors who have real jobs and don't pay much,” said Shaquille.
O'Neal's opinion on this matter is more interesting than most, as he was considered one of the greatest players to ever grace the basketball court, and his opposition could have turned to any other way to get him out of the game. So Shaq, who spent 20 years in the league with six different franchises, knows a thing or two.
The Hall of Famer faced many players during his time defending the Magic, Lakers, Heat, Suns, Cavaliers and Celtics, including some of the greatest of all time like LeBron James and even Michael Jordan.
Months ago, the Hall of Famer Renamed His Mount Rushmore of NBA A**Holes He Played With Throughout His Career.
Earlier this month, the former actor appeared in his episode Great Podcast and Shaq, along with JJ Redick to talk about the greatest pitchers he's ever competed against. His list included Gary Payton, Kevin Garnett, Alonzo Mourning and Antoine Walker.
“Gary Payton was an a-hole,” Shaquille began talking about the Seattle Supersonics icon whom he met in Los Angeles for a year. “I saw that man talking to all my guards about their mothers, their wives and their children.”

He then continued with his old friend. “Kevin Garnett was an a**. You saw him do the same thing,” said the striker about the player who became a Hall of Famer especially when he led the Timberwolves franchise.
“Alonzo Mourning was an a-hole because he always tried to be mean,” Shaq concluded his list of his teammate in Miami. “Then it's the last one. Antoine Walker was an a**hole. He spoke a lot.”
