The Nets have high expectations for Cameron Johnson in trade talks
Blockbuster deals are never easy, and it makes sense for Golden State to see the value before making any rash decisions. But in hitting PG and Markkanen, the Warriors kept their powder dry. If another star is available at a reasonable price for everyone involved (Jimmy Butler? Brandon Ingram? Julius Randle?), they can make a compelling offer and, finally, become a heavyweight contender again. Maybe it turns out they don't need a star. Maybe they're okay with giving up the future assets of another intriguing veteran (think Bruce Brown Jr., Cameron Johnson, Dorian Finney-Smith, Robert Williams III, or Kyle Kuzma). -via The Ringer / September 5, 2024
