NIPPON SHAFT PLAYERS WIN IN SWITZERLAND AND JAPAN – Golf News
The 34-year-old Englishman used Nippon Shaft irons in the irons and wedges to win a play-by-play at the DP World Tour's Omega European Masters at the weekend.
Champion used Nippon Shaft's NS PRO MODUS³ TOUR 120x steel shafts in his irons and wedges to shoot 11-under 269 with rounds of 64-62-73-70 at Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club in Crans Montana, Switzerland. He made an 8-foot birdie putt on the first playoff hole to secure the win, which paid €496,979 ($551,000). It was his fifth win on the European circuit and put him 22nd in the Race to Dubai standings.
In Japan, last week's Champion made it two in a row by winning the Shinhan Donghae Open in Incheon, South Korea. The 23-year-old used NS PRO MODUS³ Prototype irons in his irons to shoot 22-under 266 with rounds of 71-67-62-66 on the Ocean Course at Club72. He was the fourth Japanese player to win the 40-year-old tournament, which is sanctioned three times by the Japan Golf Tour, the Asian Tour and the Korean PGA Tour.
