Bukauskas: “As I said earlier, Swayman, Perfetti, RFA contract negotiations. Is there anything Elliotte, you would like to add to those files?
Friedman: “Honestly, Kyle, I don't think the weekend was big on the news in any of those cases. I didn't get much movement from Swayman. So it's still a philosophical difference with the eight-year deal. And I don't get the sense that there's a lot of determination right now, like the weekend, to do a short term on either side.

As for Perfetti, I didn't get the sense that much had changed over the weekend. I mean, we'll see. I don't think Perfetti is as dug up as Swayman is. And we'll see what happens at the beginning of the week. You know, the Jets were on the road, to Edmonton. So I wonder if that narrows everything down a bit. We'll see at the beginning of the week.
You know, one thing about Perfetti is, I always wonder about these kinds of things. When does everyone get worried? We talked about how honorable this was, how Perfetti went on a press tour, how he participated in a charity fishing event.
Like, the one thing I always worry about for everyone involved here, when does it turn around? When is frustration? And how is everyone trying to prevent that from happening, or working to prevent that from being a problem?
You know what, Kyle, one thing about Perfetti is that it seems like with every contract that gets signed, everybody feels like there's a new comparison, right? And, you know, I've talked about Pinto. Jacob Stollery, who started our interview at Sportsnet, talked about the low comparison he thought was fair, then Guenther's contract came up, and he's only played 78 games. And people are like, oh, no, what does this mean?
One thing that reminds me is that everyone can choose their favorite comparison. And I've stuck with Pinto, even though I know the Jets don't because their numbers are the same. But it comes to a point where everyone has to be comfortable, right? The team, the player, the agent.
NHL Rumors: Winnipeg Jets and Cole Perfetti had serious disagreements over Term and AAV
And you know, we're not, we're not there yet. But one thing I'm just worried about, this time, like swimming, we saw another anger going on. I just imagine, if you're Winnipeg and Perfetti, you're like, 'Okay, how can we stop that from happening? Especially with a young player, you know old players, they often say, it's business. I'm used to that now, young players. When you first go through it, it's always tough, so the Jets have that to deal with.
