Derek Van Diest: Edmonton Oilers goaltender Calvin Pickard left last night's game in the first half. Coach Kris Knoblauch did not have an update after the game and they hope to find out more today.
Defenseman Darnell Nurse has yet to play in a preseason game. He is expected to get in one or two games and is expected to be ready for their season opener. Suffered an undisclosed injury in the Stanley Cup Finals.
“We feel Darnell will be ready for the regular season,” coach Kris Knoblauch said Saturday morning. “We feel like he will be ready to play one game, if not two shows.”

Alex Boumgartner: Florida Panthers forward Anton Lundell was on the roster last night. He has been living day to day with lower body injuries.
TSN; Montreal Canadiens forward Patrik Laine left last night's game with a knee injury. He left the field on crutches and knee braces.
“For us, we have to continue and that is what we will do. Will we see if this is short term? Long term? We don't know. He will be tested and we will continue,” said coach Martin St. Louis after the game. “I hope it's not too bad.”

Defenseman David Reinbacher also left last night and was walking on crutches with both feet attached to his left knee.

NHL Rumors: The Interesting Situation As Igor Shesterkin Tries To Reset The Goaltending Market
Wes Crosby: Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Erik Karlsson hasn't skated since Tuesday, and won't skate today. The Penguins had two days off during that period. He has been rehabbing a shoulder injury.
“I'm sure he'll make progress here,” said Sullivan. “So right now, his situation is day-to-day. I know that our team is working with him. Progress is being made. So I am confident that we will succeed.”
Emerald City Hockey: Seattle Kraken coach Dan Bylsma on whether defensive end Vince Dunn will play in any preseason games: “he's just going that way.”
Forward Andre Burakovsky was wearing a no-contact jersey as a precaution and is “also moving on” according to Bylsma.
