“Strict Rules of Golf, Mr. Bond?”
Probably the most famous golf-related words in cinema.
They were mentioned by the dangerous Goldfinger in the James Bond film of the same name, which was released 60 years ago.
It was a spectacular match, shot at Stoke Park near London, and featured a famous piece of golf trickery from 007 who responded to Goldfinger's deception by setting him up for defeat.
Six decades ago, Golf Pride, the industry leader in golf innovation and performance, partnered with EON Productions to create a limited edition 007-themed golf grip kit.
Paying homage to the 1964 film, the kit includes 14 custom handles and a specially designed gold bar collectible display.
Golf Pride used design and innovation to create the basic functionality of this product, before taking on the challenge of bringing to life a grip featuring one of cinema's greatest characters.
Impeccable style
The tuxedo-inspired hold represents the best of Bond. It's a tribute to the actor's impeccable style and its refinement over the decades.
The embossed 007 top pattern, with Goldfinger-era lapels, blends seamlessly with the diamond-encrusted design, evoking the white shirt of a modern secret agent.
A black grosgrain bow tie and gold accents complete the look, epitomizing GoldenEye's style.
“Although we are a performance equipment product at heart, and this grip carries the latest and greatest Golf Pride hallmarks, we really wanted to have fun with this one,” said James Ledford, President of Golf Pride.
Earlier this summer Golf Pride launched a collaboration with basketball star Stephen Curry. Ledford said: “Whether it's partnering with a famous film company like James Bond, or a global sports star like Stephen Curry, we want to give golfers unique ways to connect to the game they love.”
Perfect for anyone looking to get their James Bond on course, the kit retails for £189 and will be available to pre-order on 007Store.com from 1 October.
The Case is on display at The 007, Burlington Arcade, London until December 31, 2024.
