Want to beat your driver further?

Do you want to hit it consistently?

Yes you do – that's what we're all looking for and this great drill video from Callaway Europe could be the answer.

Coach Danny Maude is the expert and says: “Getting a consistent swing with a driver is often very difficult unless you know what to feel.”

He adds: “My students love the work I give them.” It's called a dumbbell exercise.”

He explains: “Imagine you are holding a dumbbell with your trailing arm. “What I'm going to do is push this elbow into my body here, which is very different from the way a lot of people put it out here.

“And what I will do is do dumbbell exercises upstairs in the gym.

“What this does is train how your right side moves properly to the top of the swing.

“My arm and body are in good shape to do what? Shooting back down again.

“Most of the time, golfers are in a lot of trouble because this arm is out of place and what happens is that when they put it back in its place, they work the whole body and the arms are lost somewhere.

“But once I get my dumbbell here, look at this, I put the club in a very good position.

“From here, what I do with my back arm is fire that follows the trajectory of the ball.

“As I do this, what do you see?!

“My forwards get open and my elbow is always in a good place, it's always there ready to give a really good ball and I'm in control.

“Try again next time you crash the driver.”
