Wranglers' Kerins named AHL Player of the Week | TheAHL.com

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. … The American Hockey League announced today that the Calgary Wranglers are ahead Rory Kerins is chosen as Howies Hockey Tape/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending October 20, 2024.

Krins scored five goals in three games last week, leading the league in scoring and helping send the Wranglers to the top of the Western Conference.

All five of Kerins' goals came in consecutive games, starting with his first hat trick in a 3-1 win over Calgary in the Coachella Valley on Wednesday night. Kerins then scored two more goals — his third multi-goal game already this season — including his second straight game-winning tally as the Wranglers earned a 5-3 victory at Henderson on Friday.

Krins leads the AHL with seven goals in five games this season, and is tied with his teammates Walker Duehr again Jakob Pelletier tops the league with eight points.

A third-year pro from Caledon, Ont., Kerins posted 16 goals and 16 assists in 54 games with the Wranglers in 2023-24, his first full season in the AHL. He was a sixth-round pick by the Calgary Flames in the 2020 NHL Draft and has compiled 24 goals and 18 assists for 42 points in 69 AHL games with Calgary and Stockton.
