Hello friends and happy week of the Zozo Championship (AKA home of Tiger Woods' latest PGA Tour victory) to all watching! I haven't been away for work in over a month and it's been great to take in all that New England fall has to offer while at the same time following all things golf very closely on my phone. While the golf season may be coming to an end, there was no shortage of healthy, dangerous and fun golf moments this past week.

Let's start things off with the healthy stuff.

The best thing I saw last week

Steven “Spud” Alderson became the first golfer with autism to win on The G4D (Golf for the Handicapped) Tour, starting in 2022. After his victory at the G4D Tour @ Estrella Damm NA Andalucía Masters, the 44-year-old. gave an emotional and inspiring interview, which you can watch below.

Host Hope Barnett provided more information on the G4D Tour and Alderson's win.

Alderson will next mix it up at the G4D Tour Series Final @ DP World Tour Championship in Dubai next month, and if you're looking for a new favorite player to support, this is the guy for you.

College Game Day and the appearance of the green jacket

I've said it a few hundred times and I'll say it again: I'm not a soccer girl. I have tried many times to get into it. I read (and annotated) the first few chapters of “Football for Dummies,” asked question after question while the games were in progress and attended a handful of NFL games. I can't bring myself to enjoy, or be remotely interested in, football. It was on TV all weekend at my parents house and I was able to tune in to every part of it.

However, when I heard that Scottie Scheffler was going to be on College GameDay on Saturday, I knew I had to get involved. I could at least watch that, right? That's right. I'll admit it was a little tricky not knowing what time Scheffler would be (shout out to my co-worker and friend Zephyr Melton for letting me know his segment would be the last one), but other than that, I really enjoyed listening to my stories. the first ever College GameDay.

Scheffler wasn't asked about winning the Masters or his historic PGA Tour season, but he was asked about his arrest in Louisville and he handled it well.

I see a future where the two-time Masters champion hosts Saturday Night Live.

One of my favorite things about Scheffler is his frustration with prison being boring. That's how Pat McAfee explained it Saturday in Texas, and I think it's a funny take. Sure, some people think golf is boring. Have you ever tried to stay in jail? That's it way even worse. Never change, Scheffler.

Seeing Scheffler rocking a green jacket at his alma mater made me think of the best green jacket look I've seen in years, and people had a lot of opinions about it on Twitter.

I think Sergio wearing a green jacket at his wedding takes the cake. Some people on the internet called it tacky. The good news is that those people will never have the opportunity to wear a blue jacket at their wedding (or anywhere else). I listed Scheffler's green jacket appearance on College GameDay as the No. 2, but the truth is that I had forgotten about the time Tiger wore it to The Woods Jupiter restaurant with his workout clothes back in 2019.

I think the truth of the matter is that any green jacket look will be good.

Golf insult

I'm always looking for new ways to (jokingly!) trash my friends' golf games. Following their disability index is not fun. There are only so many 3-putt jokes to be made. Drilling driving distances is good but always expected. Just when my rolodex of golf insults was overused and exhausted, Donald Trump brought me a new one.

“Really slow clubhead speed.” Not only will I add that to my list of golf insults, but I've also been inspired to throw that line around as randomly as Trump did above. There's a good lesson here, friends: You can make fun of your friend's golf game even if it's not the current topic. Do with that happy revelation what you will.
