Flyers' Samuel Ersson Stand Tall in 2-0 Win vs. Bruins – The Hockey Writers – NHL News
On October 29, the Philadelphia Flyers (3-6-1) earned a 2-0 victory over their longtime rival Boston Bruins (4-5-1) on the road. This was the Flyers' first control win at TD Garden since Oct. 6, 2011.
As you would expect in a low scoring game, there were no goals in the first half. However, there was quite a bit of action—the shots were 11-7 in favor of the Bruins, some of which came on the 5-on-3 power play.
The Flyers started the second half, as Tyson Foerster ripped the puck into the high post to give his team a 1-0 lead. The second assist came from Morgan Frost, and the main assist came on an assist from defenseman Emil Andrae—that was his first career point. The mothers of the Philadelphia players were there and celebrated the stats:

In the third period, the Flyers closed the door by allowing just one shot on goal in the first 16 minutes. Joel Farabee got an empty-net insurance marker with less than 30 seconds left, making it 2-0.
Overall, Samuel Ersson dominated the Flyers, turning aside 24 shots he faced. As for the Bruins, backup Joonas Korpisalo gave his club a chance with 17 saves on 18 shots.

Next, Philadelphia will return to home ice to face the St. Louis Blues on October 31. On the same day, Boston will face the top-ranked Carolina Hurricanes on the road. The Bruins have lost four of their last five contests—a rebound will be challenging but desirable.
