Michelle Wie admits she was “old school.”

“I wish I had the science and technology that kids have access to now,” said Wie West.

“Hmm, I can't think of one,” Wie West said in the video. “I think it's like the old school belief that you have to hit balls until your hands bleed. I think back in the day, before you had all this science and technology, it was price over quality, honestly. And just who can stay there the longest. And you hear the whole Tiger Woods concept, of running on the treadmill in a weighted vest and all the stories about you taking your glove off and your hands bleeding, and that was on purpose.
“And I wish I hadn't done that. I felt that I would have a long playing career with a healthy body. So that's one thing I really regret is, hitting so many balls on the mat. Because it wasn't even grass – it was just a rug. And you hit the concrete at that time. I wish I had the science and technology that kids have access to now.”
In particular, in an interview with GolfTV in 2020, Woods said the same thing when asked what he would tell his younger self, answering: “Not to run as much. Running more than 30 miles a week for about my first five, six years on the Tour took a toll on my body and my knees.”
